Anamika 2022 Full Movie REVIEW

Anamika Season 1 Full Movie REVIEW: Without further ado, writer-director Vikram Bhatt dives right into the story of Anamika. An amnesic girl caught between her past and the present.

The characters’ (Prashant and Anamika) journeys appear to be a little off and unconvincing at first. As a result, the story takes some time to sink in with the audience.

The narrative becomes compelling and fast-paced once Anamika is immersed in the action and her past begins to reveal itself.

Anamika had no recollection of her life before Dr. Prashant rescued her from a fatal accident and welcomed her three years ago into his home and heart.

But, just as she is about to move forward in life with him, they are attacked, and she is forced to confront her past. Her adversaries (a drug cartel) and former acquaintances (government officials) are now looking for her.

And it is there that we learn she is ‘Agent M—one of the bests’ (everyone uses these terms to describe a life she has no recollection of) and that she has sensitive information that must not be made public.

Agent Rhea (Sonnalli Seygall) and Ravi Shrivastav (Rahul Dev), the head of the secret government organization Data Collection Agency (DTA), are on a mission to eliminate Agent M.

Anamika 2022

They are unaware that Anamika has lost her memory and thus has no idea who they are. As a result, a cat-and-mouse game ensues to see who will cross the finish line first.

The look and feel of this mystery-thriller, particularly the action sequences, have a West-esque vibe to them, and it’s easy to trace the inspiration to a variety of Hollywood thrillers and web series ranging from ‘Kill Bill’ to the ‘Jason Bourne’ series.

And this eight-part action-packed saga, with episodes ranging in length from 25 to 30 minutes, does the genre justice. The action sequences, choreographed by Moses Fernandes and Azaz Sattar Sheikh, are intense, particularly between Rhea and Anamika, who are fierce and won’t let you blink.

Rhea’s scene in which she drives a truck and jumps off a bridge is quite extravagant. The editors (Kuldip Mehan and Sudhir Mehan) have kept each episode crisp and taut, which is interesting because the characters’ situations and equations change in the blink of an eye.

In the role of Anamika, Sunny Leone immerses the audience in her thrilling encounters with the mafia and DTA agents who are after her. One can truly relax and enjoy the action.

Her training in various combat (a mix of martial arts forms) is visible, particularly in her movements and body language. While there is nothing exceptional about the plot you haven’t seen before, it is still worth watching for Sunny’s spirited performance.

She exudes fire and is quick to dispatch the evildoers. However, emotional scenes, particularly her chemistry with Dr. Prashant, remain a weakness. Overall, it’s a relief that her role isn’t limited to being a female object of the male gaze.

Sonnalli Seygall plays another strong woman in the series. Sonnalli’s performance as Rhea is impressive, from gunfire to striking anyone down.

Despite having little screen time, Ayaz Khan couldn’t play a boyfriend who is both supportive and madly in love with Anamika convincingly.

Samir Soni, Rahul Dev, and Shehzad Shaikh play characters with distinct personalities that propel the story forward and introduce intriguing twists.

All in all, ‘Anamika’ is a Sunny Leone show about a spy gone rogue. It may not contain any surprises other than the reveal of her new avatar, but it is thrilling enough to keep you on the edge of your seat the entire time.

In the end, many questions remain unanswered, implying that the mystery will be fully resolved in the next season.
